The Benefits of CertiPUR-Us Certified Mattresses
The CertiPUR-US certification is a strict set of standards that ensure your mattress is made without harmful materials, toxic chemicals, and VOCs. Certified foams also undergo testing to guarantee strength, durability, and performance.
The foam used to produce both standard and memory foam mattresses contains polyurethane. Many polyurethane foams contain additional chemicals that have been known to cause short and long-term health effects.
Many of the toxic chemicals included in polyurethane foam are volatile organic compounds. VOCs include gaseous chemicals such as formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, and benzene. These toxic chemicals are primarily from polyurethane, flame retardants, and plastics used in foam. VOC emissions can result in poor indoor air quality.
CertiPUR-US certified foams have low levels of volatile organic compounds.
Whether you buy a CertiPur-US certified mattress or a standard mattress, experts recommend letting a new mattress air out for a few days before sleeping on it. This could mean leaving it in a ventilated room or garage to emit the VOCs. This extra step can give you some more peace of mind, especially if you go with an uncertified mattress.
Our polyurethane foam mattresses are made without ozone depleters, mercury, lead, and other heavy metals. Certified foam is made with phthalates approved and regulated by the consumer product safety commission.
Maintain your indoor air quality, avoid health concerns and sleep with confidence by purchasing a CertiPur-US certified mattress!
