Do Innerspring Mattresses Deserve a Bad Rap?

As you know, we carry latex mattresses, memory foam mattresses and yes, many different versions of innerspring and pocketed coil mattresses.

It's true – mattresses built using memory foam, memory foam and latex do have their own distinct advantages.

But more and more, many people seem to think that latex or memory foam or higher-end air-adjustable mattresses are the only "good" options anymore.

You might hear that innerspring mattresses aren't comfortable, or that they're terrible for your body, and that memory foam mattresses are the only way to go.

Here's the truth of the matter: There is no one mattress style or combination that is inherently right for everyone.

Keep an Open Mind

Remember, your needs are unique. Just because memory foam and latex are the darlings of the mattress industry at the moment doesn't necessarily mean they're the right option for you.

So go into the process with the goal of finding the most comfortable, supportive mattress for your needs, regardless of the style of the mattress. We do want to point out, though, that better quality materials on any style of mattress translate to a bed that retains its structure and comfort over a longer period of time.

If you really want to be unbiased, try a blind "taste-test." Lay on each mattress without reading anything about it beforehand. Take mental notes. Then, only after you've made your initial impressions, dig into some literature. You might be surprised by what you find.

We've had plenty of people come into our store with an open mind and find that a high-quality mattress—made with quality interior and surface components—is exactly what they need.

So ignore the hype, and focus on what actually feels best for you!
