Valentine Tree

Check out this quick and easy way to decorate for Valentine's day, and/or many other holidays. Krylon spray paint is one of the easiest ways to make a change in any decor.

What you need:

  • (1) can Krylon Spray Primer
  • (1) can Krylon White Semi-Gloss spray paint
  • (1) can Krylon Stained Glass Red spray paint
  • (1) can Krylon Looking Glass spray paint
  • Tree branch
  • Assorted glass baubles
  • Wooden hearts (optional)
  • Ribbon
  • Plaster of Paris (optional)
  • Vase (or flower pot to hold your branch)

How and How Long:

  1. Spray your branch with Krylon Primer.
  2. Spray your branch with Krylon Semi-gloss paint (I used white).
  3. Spray some trinkets and baubles with Krylon specialty paints such as Stained Glass, and Looking Glass paint.
  4. I used some Plaster of Paris to make a solid mold for my tree branch for a sturdy hold.
  5. Optional-You can use some Krylon Chalkboard paint to wooden cutouts for messages (Hearts for Valentines, Eggs for Easter, Ornaments for Christmas). This is a very quick and easy project with a very low skill level.
Approximate project time: 1 hour.

What it Costs:

Cost is $20. Because the branch and the baubles don't take a lot of paint, this is a very economical project. You could easily make one of these for family gifts with 1 can each of the primer, semi-gloss, looking glass, stained glass, and chalkboard paints.
