Christmas Tree Yard Decoration

I enjoy lighting up my house for Christmas, but it takes some work. I am always looking for faster, lighter and cheaper ways to setup my lights. Here is one of my 5-foot Christmas trees that is really fast to put up, take down, and store. It's much lighter than plywood versions and cheaper than anything I've seen online.

What you need:

  • (4) 1/4" x 6' rolled steel bars
  • (1) 18' green rope light
  • (1) multi color string of lights
  • Zip ties
  • Krylon spray paint for metal in Black
  • Welder (safety equip that goes with it)
  • Vise
  • Sharpie
  • Tape measure
  • Scissors

How and How Long:

  1. Construct the Christmas tree frame
  2. Paint frame black with your Krylon spraypaint.
  3. Add lights! Add as many as you wish!
Approximate project time is one hour.

What it Costs:

Cost is $10 (for two cans of spraypaint).
