Ghoulishly Gorgeous Gravestones

I love this project! Use what you have is my motto! I took Fed-Ex Boxes that I was just going to throw away and turned them into a great item for Halloween!

What you need:

  • (1) can Krylon Make It Stone! textured spray paint Black Granite (#18201)
  • (1) can Krylon Spray Adhesive (#7010)
  • (1) can Krylon Glowz Glow-in-the-Dark spray paint (#3150)
  • Boxes - Various sizes (old shipping boxes work great)
  • Foam or wood letters
  • Various Halloween decorations
  • Hot glue or super glue
  • Packing tape
  • Newspaper or drop cloth

How and How Long:

  1. Set up a spray area by covering a table or other work surface with newspaper or drop cloth in a well-ventilated area.
  2. Assemble box leaving one end open (this will be the bottom of your gravestone).
  3. Tape over folded seams.
  4. Cut a name plaque to fit box from the cardboard of another and glue on using spray adhesive or hot glue.
  5. Glue on letters to name plaque.
  6. Embellish top of gravestone with glued on Halloween decoration: skull, bat or even a rat.
  7. Paint entire gravestone with 2-3 coats of the Make It Stone color of your choice. Let dry between coats.
