How and How Long:
- Remove door from frame. Remove door hardware, including knobs, locks
and hinges, and set aside.
- Prop the door against something sturdy, like a wall or tree, making
sure to protect the surrounding area from overspray with newspaper or
drop cloth(s).
- Using an all-purpose cleaner, thoroughly clean the door to remove
dirt, oils, and dust. Allow door to dry
- Use sandpaper to remove loose paint and to smooth imperfections.
Wipe clean to remove sanding dust.
- Following the instructions on the can, apply several light coats of
primer to the front and sides of the door. Use short sweeping strokes
to prevent overspray.
- Following the instructions on the can, apply Krylon Indoor/Outdoor
paint. Spraying evenly, begin at the top and move your way down the
door. Apply several thin coats to avoid runs and drips. Wait 1 minute
between coats.
- If desired, when the surface of the door is completely dry, turn the
door over and repeat steps 3-6 on the other side.
- Make sure both sides of the door are completely dry before you
reattach the door to the frame. Reinstall door hardware.
