Flower Box


  Breathe a little life into your landscaping by adding or updating flower boxes on your windows or porch. Painting the flower boxes in a color that coordinates with your trim will tie the look together. Add a few fresh seasonal flowers and you will be sure to grab buyers' attention.

What you need:

  • 1 can Krylon Indoor/Outdoor Primer in a color close to your paint color
  • 1 can Krylon Indoor/Outdoor Paint in desired color
  • Drop cloth or newspaper
  • Medium grit sandpaper
  • Soap and water
  • Rag
* For plastic flower boxes, use Krylon Fusion and follow the instructions for use on the can.

How and How Long:

  1. Empty flower box and clean off all dirt and debris.
  2. Place flower box on a flat work surface covered with a drop cloth or newspaper.
  3. Sand the exterior of the flower box to create a smooth and even surface. Use a tack cloth to remove dust.
  4. Following the instructions on the can, apply several light coats of primer to avoid runs and drips.
  5. Next, following the instructions on the can, spray multiple thin coats of Krylon Indoor/Outdoor paint. Use short sweeping strokes to prevent overspray and to ensure even application. Let dry.
  6. Add potting soil and seasonal plants or flowers.
